Free Apprenticeship

Vision

Pais offers a FREE apprenticeship in church leadership. Apprentices are trained to be missionaries who make missionaries via the three distinctives of Pais: Mission, Discipleship and Study. They disciple and empower the saints to become missionaries within community and world.

Being part of the Pais Collective Apprenticeship program has been such an amazing and rewarding experience. The Apprenticeship has helped me to enlarge my vision, and this has truly been a life-changing year. I have learned how to become a better disciple, leader and to be more missional in my community and the world. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have learned and grown through this program!
Cherie Truax Pais Collective Apprentice
The Pais Collective will train you starting with a 3-week intensive seminary-style conference and then place you as part of a partnered church.

You will serve and train in the three distinctives of Pais, learning all aspects of church leadership and specializing in your chosen area.

Previous apprentices often share stories of how they have grown in the following areas: Leadership, Confidence, Discipleship, Theology, Mentoring, Presentation and Communication.

Pais apprentices are very well trained throughout the year. Beginning with 3-weeks of foundational training, the apprenticeship then moves to the hands-on phase. Every few weeks teams are brought back together for specific conferences.

Apart from over 200-hours of seminary-style training, there are bi-weekly mentoring sessions, and you will join with Pais teams throughout the world and watch weekly interactive training videos called ‘Livewire’.

At present the Pais Collective offers the apprenticeship only in the USA, however our vision is to expand these opportunities to churches in countries all over the world.

Pais Collective Apprentices are trained, equipped and discipled to become church leaders and planters. Apprentices are given hands-on experiences and opportunities to implement the knowledge they gain. Whether it is leading and teaching in Haverim, to serving alongside community members in mission, or developing mentoring relationships; apprentices are given the full spectrum of what church leadership is all about.

There are limited places in which you can currently do an apprenticeship with the Pais Collective and therefore we would encourage you to apply early for courses starting in August 2012.

One of the amazing things about the Pais Collective apprenticeship that sets it apart from any other similar opportunities is that it is free.

Your accommodation is provided for the year. This usually is with a family of the church you are serving with. You will have your own room and will be treated as a boarder although quite often you will rapidly become part of the family.

All conferences, mentoring, lectures, consultation and the 200+ hours of lectures and workshops are provided in the course.

Apprentices must provide their own spending money for personal items as well as any transportation costs to and from their initial placement. Apprentices must also raise money for their own car throughout the apprenticeship.

Application

The apprenticeship can be applied for online and the initial application has a five-step process. Step 1 – application form. Step 2 – Upload a photograph. Step 3 – Create a short three-minute video. Step 4 – provide two references. If your initial application is successful then you will go to the first interview stage, where you will either be offered a position with The Pais Collective or asked to apply at another time. If accepted, you will be required to complete Step 5 which involves reading two specific books before you start. You will also interview with a prospective placement church, this enables you to know exactly where you will be serving, should you choose to accept a position with the Pais Collective.
